Enzo De Rosa -- Composer

 

Italian virtuoso concert pianist and composer Enzo De Rosa, who lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, commenced his piano studies with such great musicians as Tita Parisi in Naples, A. Ciccolini at the Accademia Internazionale di Biella, J. Swann and B. Petrushansky at the Accademia Pianistica "Incontri col Maestro" of Imola. He participated in various courses with such masters as  J. Demus, J. Achucarro, G. Wilson, E. Fadini. S. Fiorentino, P. Badura Skoda, R. Firkusny, L. Berman, whose teaching had a fundamental influence in his musical development. He also studied organ and harpsichord. Furthermore, he studied composition and film music with L. Bacalov and F. Mannino.

 

Enzo soon developed a vivid interest in composition and modern music. He incorporates electronic instruments and modern recording techniques into his original scores. He has been the first prize recipient of national and international music competitions as a pianist and chamber musician. Enzo has performed in recitals and concerts in most countries as a soloist, in chamber music groups, and with singers. He composed for numerous theatre productions and television shows. He has published a CD of film music for Rai , Italian Television and Radio, and four CDs of original compositions for piano and various instruments.

 

He teaches at the Conservatory of Music in Benevento, Italy. His courses include composition, history and analysis of film music, and virtual digital orchestra. He is also master vocal coach for the voice department. In 2006, Enzo received the International Prize "Foyer des Artistes" – Rome (Italy) as pianist and composer. He is the composer of Lucia Mauro's feature film, One Year Later, which was nominated for Best Original Score at Montreal's 2016 Visions of the World Film & Music Festival, and her documentary, Frances Xavier Cabrini: The People's Saint. www.enzoderosa.com
